Category Archives: Pro Tour After what the riders have described as a much needed rest day the boys were back on the roads for stage 10. A couple of sprinters didnt make it over Mt Etna in time and were DQ’d from the tour, namely Robbie McEwan and Graeme Brown. The other big names toughed it out and managed...  SBS finally came to the party and showed stage 9 of the Giro live (well from 11:25pm onwards missing more than the first half of the race) SBS picked up the broadcast as the race started to heat up, a break was up the road and were starting to look as though they may just... After a short 110km stage yesterday it was back to reality and a 200km+ stage last night. Stage 8 was described as a sprinters stage, except for the short steep climb just before the finish with a handful of switch backs and tight corners and a gradual incline to the finish line (hardly sounds like... With only 110km on the cards for the peleton in stage 7 it would have looked like an easy stage, and it probably was until the 17km climb to the finish at Santuario Di Montevergine. The big names and favourites kept a close eye on each other through the stage and the final climb but... First up – my appologies for not getting a write up done on stage 5, I was half way through the post when I got way laid and couldnt get it finished.
