First up – my appologies for not getting a write up done on stage 5, I was half way through the post when I got way laid and couldnt get it finished.

Stage 6 saw another victory come from a relative outsider, Fransisco Ventoso of teh movistar team. Ventoso won a stage of the Tour Down Under earlier this year but this will make for the biggest victory of his career.
The route took in 216km of beautiful terrain with only one categorized climb which came early in the day the stage was meant to be geared for the sprinters. What most people didnt realise was that the final few miles of the race had a couple of decent little climbs and it was a battle to get to the finish line. Sprinters such as Cav and Robbie McEwan, Robbie Hunter and Graeme Brown were shelled in the final 50km and finished well off the pace.
Alessandro Pettacchi narrowly missed his 2nd stage win of this years tour taking out 2nd ahead of Roberto Ferrari and Danilo Di Luca.
Pieter Weening still holds the pink jersey after winning yesterday stage and claims a narrow 2 second lead over HTC’s Kanstantsin Sivtsov, Maarco Pinnoti also from HTC currently rounds out the top 3 also 2 seconds behind Weening.
